Equipping a Pastor Every day, hundreds of native pastors and evangelists boldly proclaim the Gospel in the different parts of the country. They are often in great personal danger knowing they may be beaten, tortured, or even killed for their work. “DISCIPLE UNION” works with these persecuted Pastors by providing monthly support, Pastoral training, Bibles and bicycles for them. In this country, there is no social standing in being a pastor. They serve God with great dedication and with amazing results, even if they face great danger.
Local pastors and evangelists are incredibly effective, and yet we have the ability to make them even more effective in their work, by providing them with ministry tools. This will assist them in the evangelism work. While Bibles are plentiful in the West, a church in Asia is fortunate to have a few among its members. New believers are desperately in need of the Word of God. Bibles can be provided for as little as $2.50 each. Many DU supported missionaries spend many hours walking from one village to another. With a bicycle, a pastor or evangelist can visit three to four times as many villages in one day. A heavy-duty bicycle can be provided for $100.
