Disciple Union Ministries began its work, with the Christians that are living in the remote areas, villages and urban slums. The daily experience living among the people of other faiths and our faith in Christ gave us light to start the work based on the spiritual and social growth of the Christians. As they live among the Muslims, they get least chance to explore God in their lives. The children study in the Government schools where they have to read Islamic education as a compulsory subject. They get brain washed in many cases and does not let the Holy Spirit enter in their lives.
Our experience is that the children learn the Islamic verses by heart, and many Christian youth convert to Islam. Why is that happening? Because they do not know the Bible, and far less how to pray to Jesus Christ.
In this context, Disciple Union International Ministries Pakistan started its work for the Christian formation of the people of God and provide them basic faculties of life ensuring their economic and social independence in the society 70 percent of the Pakistan’s unreached peoples live in the villages and backward areas, most of them live with little or no chance of ever hearing the Gospel. Less than 5 percent of missions' resources from the West and USA are being sent to help share the Gospel in this country. That is one reason why DU is strongly committed to support pastors and evangelists in persecuted areas.
Our vision is to uplift the Pastors and their families because hundreds of the Pastors are leaving to serving Church due to non availability of sufficient income to run their home and church as well.
We are making bridges between the western Churches and the local churches.
We are providing opportunities to these pastors to build and develop their contacts with ministries in Pakistan and abroad. We also provide opportunities for:
- Sharing Church activities and problems with one another.
- Encouraging through prayer and providing opportunities to be trained by teachers and preachers (with modern technology) from other countries.
- Equipping pastors with spiritual tools such as study books for Pastors, instruments for Church worship, PA, tents & lighting, computers, bicycles and monthly support for families.
- Providing opportunities to develop relationship with other denominations through Seminars and leadership Conferences.
